GNOSES is a creative guild and studio rooted in the German ideal of Gesamtkunstwerk—the “total work of art.” It’s a living constellation of ideas, people, and practices—ever-evolving, interwoven, and in conversation with one another. The name itself is layered wordplay: drawing inspiration from the Greek gnosis (meaning “knowledge”—or more precisely, self-knowledge, as the alchemists understood it), fused with the nose—that intimate organ tied to memory, instinct, and perception, among other schools of thought. Gnosis. Nose. Together: GNOSES. To know the world and thyself through sensation, erudition, and presence. GNOSES as both lens and vessel—an intuitive practice that explores the spaces where culture, the human spirit, and the natural world converge and syncretize.
